Guerrieri-Rizzardi was founded over a century ago and today own a total of four wine estates situated in four Appellations or sub regions of Veneto, Italy. The four Appellations are the DOC Classico areas of Bardolino, Valpolicella, Soave and Valdadige. Crafted in a clean and approachable style, our DOC wines offer great value while representing the unique heritage of their respective regions. The range of wines include a dry, white Soave Classico DOC, a dry rose Bardolino Chiaretto Classico DOC as well as two dry unoaked reds, Bardolino Classico DOC & Valpolicella Classico DOC.
The grapes for our Chiaretto Classico DOC are grown on our estate vineyards situated in the Bardolino DOC Classico area. These vineyards, influenced by the micro-climate created by Italy's largest body of water, Lake Garda, is ideal for growing high quality grapes. Guerrieri Rizzardi has long been a champion of native, indigenous grapes and Corvina make up 70% of the blend of this wine along with Rondinella, Sangiovese, Molinara and Negrara. The grapes are naturally farmed and harvested. The desired rosé colour is drawn from the red grape skins after 12 to 18 hours of fermentation in neutral stainless steel tanks.
This wine is a rose with beautiful hues pink, cherry and copper. This Chiaretto is dry, fresh and intense on the palate and has good acidity. Serve our Chiaretto chilled before the meal on its own or with Italian appetizers such as prosciutto with melon or antipastis starters. This wine can also be served with rice or pasta salads, white meats, crustacians and seafoods and is excellent with Asian fare and mildly spiced Indian curry dishes.
