2006 marks the second vintage of our Clos Roareti from the historic vineyard of Rovereti, in Negrar, Valpolicella. In this 100 year old walled vineyard, Giuseppe Rizzardi (Guerrieri Rizzardi Winemaker) has planted Merlot and Corvina grape varietals that are perfectly suited to the climate and soil. The resulting wine has rich, full bodied Merlot characteristics in the nose and palate, subtle spice of Corvina with a hint of oak characteristics. We recommend it to be decanted and served (16-18° C or 60-65° F) with roasted game or red meats such as rack of lamb or fillet mignon.
