Guerrieri Rizzardi has produced Bardolino Chiaretto for many vintages. The climate and soil of Bardolino is condusive for crafting a rosato or rosé of superior quality. 2007 is the second vintage release of Rosa Rosae, our premium quality rosé. The name “Rosa Rosae” comes from the Latin, “the rose of rose” and the label features a re-imaging of the Leonardo Da Vinci’s “Study of Flowers and Plants”. The wine is a blend of red grapes native to Bardolino, as well as the addition of Marcobona a white grape variety only planted by Guerrieri Rizzardi. After years of trials, Giuseppe Rizzardi (Chief Winemaker) feels that the inclusion of this grape enhances the aromas and the palate weight of the wine. The wine is dry, fresh and intense on the palate and has good acidity. Serve our Rosa Rosae chilled (10-12° C or 50-54° F) before the meal on its own or with Italian appetizers, rice or pasta salads, white meats, crustaceans and is excellent with Asian fare and mildly spiced Indian curry dishes.
